Lorraine Kelly found herself in an awkward moment during her live appearance on Good Morning Britain earlier today (Monday, March 10),

when she accidentally used a rather inappropriate expression on air.
The 65-year-old TV presenter, who was previewing the lineup for her own show,
immediately apologised for the slip-up as her GMB co-hosts, Ed Balls and Susanna Reid, reacted with surprise.

Lorraine’s On-Air Blunder

As Lorraine joined Ed and Susanna to discuss what was coming up on her self-titled ITV show, she shared details about an interview with Dancing On Ice winner Sam Aston and a chat with legendary Poirot actor David Suchet.

However, it was during this discussion that she unintentionally caused a stir.
The slip-up first came when Lorraine weighed in on a conversation about the late payment of compensation to victims of the Post Office Horizon scandal. Clearly frustrated by the delays, she said:
“Just give them their money, for goodness’ sake. Stop fannying about!”
Her choice of words was met with raised eyebrows but wasn’t the only moment that caught viewers’ attention.

Lorraine’s Comment About Agatha Christie Drama
Moments later, Lorraine turned her attention to a recent BBC adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Towards Zero. The new drama has been described as a much more provocative and risqué take on Christie’s classic storytelling. Lorraine, in referencing the way the show had been labelled by critics, made an unfortunate blunder.
“So, David Suchet is coming in. I just wonder what he makes of it and what Poirot would’ve made of Towards Zero, the new Agatha Christie. It’s been called ‘[Beep] Christie’, apparently.”
The unexpected phrase left Susanna Reid momentarily speechless, before she spluttered:

“I beg your pardon?”
Realising her mistake, Lorraine immediately questioned whether she had gone too far:
“Am I allowed to say that?”
Ed Balls quickly indicated that she wasn’t, prompting Lorraine to launch into a series of apologies.

“Anyway, I apologise. And I apologise again to myself… Anyway, it is raunchy! I don’t think that you need it, I think the story is fine.”
Despite her embarrassment, she laughed off the moment and added with a grin:
“Sorry about that!”
Social Media Reacts to Lorraine’s Mishap

Lorraine’s unexpected slip-up didn’t go unnoticed by viewers, many of whom took to social media to share their amusement.
One user on X (formerly Twitter) posted:
“Hahaha! Even the pros slip up! Thank you for the Monday morning giggle! #Lorraine #GMB.”
Meanwhile, Ed Balls joked that Lorraine had managed to “liven up” the morning show, while she playfully protested:

“That wasn’t me that was saying that—it was other people!”
Lorraine Explains Her Bruised Face on Her Own Show
Later, on Lorraine, the host shared another personal story that had left her with a visible injury. Addressing the reason behind her recent puffy face and bruising, Lorraine revealed she had suffered an unfortunate household accident.
Speaking with Dr Hilary, she explained how she collided with a large wooden ornament while carrying out some chores at home.
“Bash! Into that big wooden rhino,” she recalled, before joking:
“Rhino 1, me nil.”

The lighthearted admission had viewers sympathising with her, but it seems she’s taken the incident in stride, brushing off both her on-air mishap and her run-in with the wooden rhino with her usual sense of humour.
Despite the minor blunder on GMB, Lorraine continues to be a beloved presence on morning television, proving that even seasoned professionals can have their off moments—much to the delight of viewers at home.
