Helen Flanagan has spoken candidly about the emotional toll of her split from longtime partner Scott Sinclair,

revealing that certain things would often leave her feeling down in the aftermath of their breakup.
The former Coronation Street actress, 34, who shares three children with the footballer,
admitted that adjusting to life as a single mother came with its own set of challenges—both in her personal life and on social media.

Navigating Life After a 13-Year Relationship

Helen and Scott were together for over a decade before parting ways in 2022.

The couple, who got engaged in 2018, are parents to daughters Matilda, nine, Delilah, six, and son Charlie, three.
While Helen has since moved on, the breakup had a profound impact on her, particularly when it came to her emotions surrounding family life.
Speaking openly about her struggles, Helen revealed that seeing pictures of happy family outings online would often serve as a painful reminder of what she no longer had.
“I remember when I split up with my ex, if I ever saw family days out with Mum and Dad, that would always make me feel a bit rubbish as I didn’t have that anymore,” she admitted.
For Helen, social media became a significant factor in managing her emotions, and she stressed the importance of being mindful about online content, especially when going through a tough time.
“Everybody has their own triggers,” she explained. “I always say to my friends, if you’re ever going through a really hard time, I tell them not to go on Instagram because you’re making yourself feel worse.”
Life as a Single Mother and Career Juggles
Since her split, Helen has been balancing her busy career with raising her three children. Despite the demands of single parenthood, she feels fortunate to have a job that allows her to work from home.
“I’m always in work mode because my kids are young,” she said. “I do feel really lucky that I can do that from home. It really is a dream job for me and I genuinely really love it and really enjoy it.”

Helen, who became a household name playing Rosie Webster on Coronation Street, has continued to have a successful career in the entertainment industry. She has taken part in reality shows such as I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and Celebs Go Dating, as well as maintaining a strong presence on social media.
Her Instagram account, which boasts over a million followers, gives fans an insight into her life—from motherhood to modeling and her relationship with new boyfriend Robbie Talbot.
Facing Online Trolls and Embracing Confidence
As someone who has been in the public eye since childhood, Helen is no stranger to criticism. Over the years, she has learned to develop a thick skin when dealing with online trolls.
“Unfortunately, it’s a bit of the nature of the beast with the job,” she said. “I’ve been an actress from a young age, from being judged and in the public eye for so long, it’s something I’m used to.”
She has found inspiration in other women who promote body confidence online, including presenter Ashley James.
“I love everything she posts on social media,” Helen shared. “All that body confidence and feeling more comfortable in your own skin stuff—it really resonates with me.”
Helen, who also works as a lingerie model, admitted that being in her thirties has given her a new perspective on self-acceptance.
“I’m a little bit older than the other girls in their twenties, but I think as you get older, you start to accept yourself a lot more. That’s quite a nice feeling.”

Learning and Growing from Life Experiences
Reflecting on her journey, Helen acknowledged how much she has evolved over the years. Having entered the spotlight at just nine years old, she has faced both the highs and lows of fame.
Now, as a mother of three and a woman in her mid-thirties, she sees life through a different lens.
“I feel you become more happy and comfortable in yourself,” she explained. “Maybe things that when you were younger felt like the whole world, when actually they’re not.”
She also emphasized the importance of perspective, saying that while challenges may seem overwhelming in the moment, they often turn out to be more manageable than they initially appear.

“Sometimes things you get anxious about and think are so big in your head, they turn out to be okay. As long as my kids are okay, I can cope. Everything else I can deal with.”
A New Chapter
Helen is now focused on embracing the next chapter of her life. While her split from Scott was undoubtedly a difficult period, she has come out stronger and more self-aware.
With a renewed outlook on social media, confidence, and life’s priorities, she continues to share her journey with her followers while ensuring that her own mental well-being remains a top priority.
By setting boundaries and choosing to engage with content that uplifts her, Helen hopes to inspire others to do the same. Her advice to those struggling with social media? “Only follow accounts that make you feel good about yourself and engage in things that bring you joy.”
