that regularly leaves the This Morning team “rolling their eyes” at him and Alison.

In a recent episode of the Smart TV podcast, hosted by Alison Hammond, Dermot shared the one thing about their show 

that makes the production team chuckle—his answer to the question of what he loves most about working on This Morning. 

The podcast, where Alison invites guests to talk about their perfect night in, allowed Dermot to open up about the close bond he shares with his co-host. Over the years, they have developed a strong friendship that goes beyond their professional relationship.

Dermot explained how, after working together for years, he and Alison have found their “sweet spot” on the show, where they trust each other completely. “The thing I love most about it, aside from the fact that, you know, I found you and you found me and we have this lovely friendship,” Dermot said, referring to Alison, “is the fact that… I think the team always kinda rolls their eyes when we say this.”

He said the team’s reaction to his love for the show is partly because the unscripted nature of the program requires a lot of behind-the-scenes effort to ensure everything runs smoothly.

In her usual playful style, Lulu quipped, “I want to go on a journey with you!” as the chef began discussing the dish. Her impromptu entrance added an element of surprise and lightheartedness to the segment, with viewers quickly noticing the absence of Billy Porter. On social media, fans couldn’t help but highlight the moment, sharing GIFs and comments such as, “‘I will definitely stay for jerk chicken’ #This Morning,” humorously acknowledging Billy’s sudden disappearance from the show.
